The Atom/RSS Reader/Writer fetches feed from a specified URL and parses it into SnapLogic records, which are then written out to 9 outputs.

• The "feed" output writes out a single record that contains information related to the feed
• This record also has the "snap_id" field, which is assigned a unique id. This id is used in associating the feed record with all its child records that are written out to the views as follows:
  • link
  • author
  • contributor
  • category
  • rss_skip_days
  • rss_skip_hours
• These child records have a "snap_parent_id" whose value matches the "snap_id" field in the feed record
• The other major output is the "item" view, through which, a record is written out for each item in the parsed feed
• Each item record also has a unique id, which is set in its "snap_id" field
• This value is again used to associate the item record with all its child records that are written to the outputs as follows:
  • link
  • author
  • contributor
  • content
  • category
